1. Tacklebox™ is designed with the following features:

  • To bring the experience of fishing into a game environment
  • To develop individual and team based life skills
  • To go beyond a standard board game concept where repetitive circling around a game board is avoided. In Tacklebox™ players actions within the game are choice orientated
  • Strategy formation
  • Tactical planning
  • Random element of luck
  • The ability to manage risk of your equipment due to environmental surprises
  • Multiple game variances that are decided on before the game starts, each option requires differing game strategies and tactics:
    1. Three types of game finishes:
      1. Fish Quota System - short or long play game option
      2. Targeted Fish Types - Medium to long play option
      3. Empty the Sea of Fish - long play game option
    2. Discard Pile and Sea of Fish play options which changes the game dynamic completely and requires differing strategies and tactics for each option:
      1. Retain card positions in the Sea of Fish and shuffle the Discard Pile only
      2. Pick up all cards in the Sea of Fish and shuffle with the Discard Pile

  • Colour coding and patterns linking
  • Development of combinations
    1. Numerical - line, hook sizes
    2. Equipment components - rod, line, hook
    3. Matrix relationships between equipment, bait and fish types
